In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism) the prayers are done in various forms. The following are all under the rubric of “prayer” and each has a different reason:– pūjā/arādhana, stotra, japa, yajña/homa, prārthana, upasana/dhyāna, Sandhya - Nitya karma.
